👻 Students Turn Fear into Fun (and Learning)
At the heart of the Haunted Studio are our students — the dreamers, builders, and storytellers who bring the magic to life. Each fall, they dive into every part of the production process: designing sets, mastering special effects, running lighting and sound, and even acting in unforgettable roles.
This immersive experience gives them a chance to apply everything they’ve learned in our programs — from scriptwriting and stage design to production management. It’s hands-on education with a creative twist, where every ghostly giggle and shriek becomes a lesson in real-world performance and technical skills.

Of course, no show happens without guidance. The JDS staff and instructors work closely with students to teach industry standards in lighting, camera operation, costume design, and stage management. They’re not just building a haunted attraction — they’re mentoring the next generation of creative professionals.
Behind the scenes, you’ll also find the JDS Video & Media Productions team, helping capture all the thrills on camera so audiences near and far can experience the fun.
